We are all part of various systems, which include family, school, community and culture. As such, it is important that therapy be in context, holistically with adults, families and children to ensure appropriate, timely, and effective evidenced- based assessment and treatments.
I aim to create a warm, inclusive and safe environment focussing on strengths, to develop a therapeutic partnership that supports change towards positive growth and therapy outcomes.
My treatment approaches include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Solution Focussed Therapy (SFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and meditation, Attachment-based therapy and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
I work with individuals who are experiencing difficulties ranging from mild symptoms of Depression and Anxiety, to those with more enduring mental health challenges. I have experience working to support families, children and adolescents with moderate to severe disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, psychological distress or challenging behaviours.
I am a Registered Psychologist with a diverse experience having worked in a variety of areas in private and public sectors in health, Mental Health, Disability and in the agency of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
I believe that everyone can develop and work toward finding their strength and balance, and to seek support when needed. In my previous role, I worked as a nurse for many years in the community this has given me insight into the real-world challenges people can experience. Outside of my work role, I am inspired by art, nature and living in the hills.
