Josh truly relishes learning and furthering his knowledge. Since completing his studies, he continues to further his knowledge by attending various courses and workshops. In recent time he particularly enjoyed learning about the Selective Functional Movement Assesment (SFMA) which he loves to use as a tool to diagnose sources of pain and discomfort for his patients.

Dr. Saxton believes in the power of perseverance under pressure and embodies the philosophy that improvement, even by 1%, can make a significant difference. His treatment philosophy is movement-based - first, we achieve it, and then we control it.

Josh is a national-level Judo player and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA coach at the South Australian Combat Academy. He recently achieved a Sho Dan (Black Belt) in Judo, which adds to his impressive profile. His goal is to compete for SA in the 2024 titles and achieve a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu - a rare and commendable feat!

In his practice, Dr. Josh emphasizes movement and stability, utilizing techniques like soft tissue adjustments, dry needling, positional release, and exercise delivery. He champions active rehabilitation, ensuring patients play an active role in their recovery.

🌿 Life Beyond the Clinic:

Josh enjoys spending time with his partner, (Dr. Roz, who is also an osteopath at Southside Clinic!), and their dogs, Marshall and Grond, when not in the clinic or at the gym. He loves the outdoors and is often found 4-wheel driving, camping, or relaxing at the beach.

ANDREA’S 5 TIPS FOR STAYING HEADACHE FREE!

Drink lots of water. You should have about 8 glasses a day to keep you hydrated.

Take a magnesium supplement. Magnesium is food for the muscles and reduces tension that can cause headaches.

Take a fish oil or turmeric supplement. Lots of headaches are associated with systemic or whole body inflammation and a fish oil or turmeric supplement is a great way to reduce inflammation in the body.

Do a light weight, high repetition, upper body, weights program. A class like yoga, barre or Pilates is great for this. You need to build strength in your muscles to prevent poor posture.

Aim to reduce stress levels. My favourite two things to prevent stress are participating in a Yin Yoga class, or listening to the Headspace App.
